One thing that Family Promise of Greater Johnson City can rely on consistently is our community.
Yesterday, North Ridge Community Church of Erwin brought a large group of young volunteers to help complete several projects. We had two off-site storage units containing several donations and very heavy shelves. The group helped us load all the donations into our van and shelves into our box truck in under an hour. They then proceeded to unload them into the storage room in our Thrift Store.
Now we have so much more storage space in the store, which is very well organized. Additionally, this workday frees up almost $2,000 per year that can go directly to serving more families. We had wanted to do this project for a while but needed more staff or time.
We thank North Ridge Community Church of Erwin for their continued support of the families served by Family Promise and all they do for the community.
