Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) provides temporary housing through hotels and grocery gift cards that supplement food stamps. An FPJC case manager works with our guests to help them obtain sustainable housing and collaborates with community resources to bring needed services. FPJC assists families in developing and archiving personal goals related to debt resolution, budgeting, securing employment, living a physically and emotionally healthy lifestyle, and parenting and interpersonal skills. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, we had a different model, where neighboring churches would alternate weeks of shelter for the families in our program. Our current model allows autonomy and privacy for the families. Through IHN, FPJC provides temporary, transitional shelter for unhoused families with children in need.
Provisions Include:
We provide overnight accommodations, grocery gift cards to supplement food stamps, and assistance in housing and job searches.
Other services are aimed at helping our guests reach their goal of finding stable, long-term shelter, all at no cost to the families.
FPJC can simultaneously accommodate 17 individuals (typically four to five families) in the program.
Families remain in the program for up to 90 days- We are not an emergency shelter.
