Keeping Families Together
WAPC Holds 3rd Annual Cajun Luncheon for FPJC
The 3rd Annual Cajun Luncheon/FPJC Fundraiser was held on February 24 at Watauga Avenue Presbyterian Church. Spearheaded by Dr. Brian Bonfardin and Virginia Farr, with assistance from Alice Burrell and the Fellowship Team at WAPC, the luncheon/fundraiser was an overwhelming success. Over $3,400 was raised for FPJC. The menu included a diverse range of authentic New Orleans and Cajun dishes prepared by Bonfardin, Farr, and the Fellowship Team. The luncheon featured jambalaya, gumbo, red beans and rice, various hot sauces, cheese grits, corn pudding, garlic bread, and salad. The meal was followed by king cake, bread pudding, and homemade chocolate cupcakes for dessert. Fifty guests savored the food and also celebrated the 90th birthday of WAPC’s Bob Curtis. A homemade cake was presented to Mr. Curtis and his family to honor this special occasion. The luncheon continues to grow each year, increasing enthusiasm and support for Watauga Avenue’s mission with FPJC. View more photos from the event here.
