Family Promise of Greater Johnson City (FPJC) is involved with two main community fundraising events during the year: Chasing Snakes and Songfest.

ChasingSnakesLogoChasing Snakes, started in 2009, is an annual 10k road race and 4k fitness walk/fun run hosted by St. John’s Episcopal Church to benefit FPJC. The race is held on the Saturday after St. Patrick’s Day. We are grateful to the many volunteers from St. John’s, our other partnering congregations, and the community for making this event such a wonderful success each year.

Songfest is an annual event that began in 2005 featuring bluegrass, country, and gospel music from regional artists.   FPJC has been blessed to host performances from the likes of the East Tennessee State University Bluegrass Pride Band and Ed Snodderly. Our 2015 event, held in Seeger Chapel at Milligan College, also included the local band this mountain.

Songfest 2016 will take place on Sunday, November 13 at the Gregory Center on the Milligan College campus. Please mark your calendars so you can come out and support FPJC through this wonderful afternoon of music and fun!

I am posting a request as well - we are in need of an interpreter who speaks Spanish who can help us communicate with a family coming in tomorrow, July 5, at 9 am (for about 1-1.5 hours). Are you or is someone you know fairly fluent in Spanish and English able to assist us? Thank you in advance and Happy Fourth!

Family Promise just really gave us hope that we didn't have when we first started.

It's a wonderful experience. There's a lot of love and joy being expressed daily.

Me and my kids were living in an abandoned building. Now we have our own house. I have a job. I just got a car. Family Promise did all that.
